Directions or the original GPX track?
Opening the route in Google Maps is best when you want fresh driving, cycling, or walking directions. Google Maps recalculates the path between a limited set of points, so it may not exactly follow the recorded GPX line.
Preserve the full track with Google My Maps
If you need to display the original GPX geometry, import the file directly into Google My Maps on a desktop browser. My Maps supports GPX uploads and is better suited to viewing a recorded track without turning it into navigation directions.
